Restaurant: The Whalesbone Oyster House
After working through many different kitchens and for many talented chefs in the city of Ottawa, Michael took his first Head Chef position at a hopping little Caribbean restaurant of Ottawa’s past named Savana Café where he began expressing himself with his cuisine and gutsy cooking to many critical acclaims.
In 2013 Michael joined the Whalesbone Group as chef de cuisine of their flagship restaurant The Whalesbone Oyster House, while the chef at the time was opening up their second restaurant The Elmdale Tavern. In 2014 Michael was asked to take over the role of Executive Chef of the company where he has been expressing himself through food and service ever since. In 2016 Michael with his ownership team opened a third location, our largest, to great reviews The Whalesbone on Elgin. The Whalesbone Group now operates three locations with roughly 300 seats under Chef Michael’s tenure as executive head chef.
