World’s Longest Lobster Roll


(September 18, 2016) The Prince Edward Island Fishermen’s Association broke the record for the World’s Longest Lobster Roll today at the Prince Edward Island International Shellfish Festival. The final lobster roll length measured in at 120 Feet.

The bread was baked at the Culinary Institute of Canada by Chef Ross Munro and crew. A team of 60 fishermen and their wives paraded the roll from the Culinary Institute of Canada to the Charlottetown Event Grounds escorted by city police. It was made with 120 lbs of PEI lobster meat, 30 lbs of dough, 30 lbs celery, 15 lbs red pepper, lbs of onions and 5 gallons of mayonnaise.

Festival goers had the opportunity to stuff the lobster roll and enjoy a sample of the roll. Food Network Canada’a Chef Lynn Crawford measured the roll with the live audience in the Festival tent during the PEI International Shellfish Festival.

Festival attendance was up 13.5% over 2015.
