Meet the Competition Winners of the 2023 PEI International Shellfish Festival

Chefs, shuckers, and mixologists from across North America showcased their incredible talents at the PEI International Shellfish Festival presented by Dairy Farmers of PEI. With over $31,000 in cash prizes on the line, competition was fierce, and the results are in.

The winners from Friday’s competitions:

Garland Canada International Chef Challenge Semi Finalists

Chef Deseree Lo – Vancouver, BC
Chef Shai-Ann Tyson – Richmond Hill, Ontario
Chef Kyle Puddester – Fork, Newfoundland
Chef Michael Hauschild – Ottawa, Ontario
Chef Nao Akutagawa – Toronto, Ontario
Chef Marc Lepine – Ottawa, Ontario

Mott’s Clamato National Best Caesar In Town Competition

First Place: Mark Ondrechak – Laval, Quebec – $5,000
Second Place: Mihail Stalianof – Edmonton, Alberta – $2,000
Third Place: Ted Reader – Toronto, Ontario – $1,500

Irish Point Oyster Shucking Competition 

First Place: Daniel Oatway – $500
